Since this is clearly a yahoo messenger program error. I would suggest you

call, or email yahoo, or look for a yahoo messenger support forum.

Thanks

What is the version of your Windows XP CD as it appears on the CD?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on

the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties,

Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What

drivers are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

Uninstall and reinstall Yahoo Messenger checking with Yahoo for updates?

What version of Yahoo Messenger do you have?

Hope this helps.

Re: Stop error 0x00000044, help

Hi Gerry

Thank you for your help.I did as you told me.I checked in device manager

and i found a yellow question mark beside Other Devices under it it's

Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller.I checked it's properties i found

Device type: Other devices.Manufacturer: Unknown, Location: PCI bus 0, device

29, function 7.I disabled it.I also checked for unsigned drivers as you told

me but they are all digitally signed.

I looked in IRQ and i found 3 items having the same IRQ 16 which is ATI

RADEON VE DDR and Universal serial bus controllers

Intel® 82801EB USB Universal host controller 24D2 and universal host

controller 24DE.Could this be the problem?.I have the latest version of yahoo

messenger 8.1.Any ideas. Thanks again for your help.
