Guest Lois Morrett Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 We are in the process of migrating all of our users home directories to a new server using RoboCopy. We are planning on setting the same quotas for the users that they currently have. My question is this. The NTFS security is set up on the users folders as the user has Modify and Administrators group has Full Control. If Administrators has ownership of the folders/files and the quota is set to the owner of the file and administrators quota on the disk is set to unlimited what is the point of the quotas ? Doesn't it only affect the new files the user creates on the disk? The user can increase a file (say a pst) that's owned by Administrator. Should Administrators not own the home directories ? Please advise.

Please advise. Hi Home directories should be owned by the users to which they are assigned, as well as all the files and folders within. Regards Chris
