Guest John Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hello all: Our current network has two Windows 2000 Server DCs. We just purchased a third server with Windows 2003 Server. What is the best way to replicate the active directory database and other settings to the new domain controller? Thanks.

Guest John Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Re: Add Windows 2003 Server DC to 2000 Server Network Thanks for the info. Do we run the 32-bit version of the adprep app even though our 2003 servers is x64? Guest seth Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Re: Add Windows 2003 Server DC to 2000 Server Network yes you would have to use adprep on the x86 cd for the 2000 box since the x64 version obviously won't work there "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CD5FFD25-F4AF-4150-9789-DE2D92024CC6@microsoft.com... > Thanks for the info. > > Do we run the 32-bit version of the adprep app even though our 2003 > servers > is x64? > > "seth" wrote: > >> You need to run adprep first on a 2000 dc to extend the schema before >> promoting a 2003 server >> >> http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/1e2541bb-d42c-49ef-9f8a-18e30b4f26671033.mspx?mfr=true >> >> >> >> "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:E978A8ED-FF34-46D9-9428-600B9A9781A8@microsoft.com... >> > Hello all: >> > >> > Our current network has two Windows 2000 Server DCs.
