Dalo Harkin Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I cant see the pictures at my current location, but if what I think you are referring to - if you navigate to C:/Nvidia there will be a folder in there that store the errors. Dalo Harkin Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Right ok - go to control panel and then Administrative options - there is an event viewer in there and you should be able to get rid of any errors there ;) Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
rowal5555 Posted August 15, 2008 Author Posted August 15, 2008 Yeah. Getting rid of the errors is not a problem, but I was wondering why I have over 1700 of them, and how to use the /AUXSOURCE flag to get more detail. Dalo Harkin Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Right the /AUXSOURCE flag is far too detailed for me to write about - but have a look here Detailed Usage of the Event Viewer /AUXSOURCE Switch Option Also do you have the latest drivers for your card? Dalo Harkin Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 As a side note - you are always better off going the manufacturer of the components to download the drivers - MOBO's eg ABIT,ASUS and GIGABYTE etc GPU- these may be made by ASUS or GIGABYTE etc but they are still reference designs made by NVIDIA and ATI/AMD and you are better off with the NVIDIA and AMD/ATI drivers. rowal5555 Posted August 15, 2008 Author Posted August 15, 2008 Yes, I usually do go to NVidia, but will check out Gigabyte as well. Have installed the new drivers and will delete all the errors, see what happens from now on. Dalo Harkin Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 No problem - I will leave the thread open until you install the new drivers and see if the errors in the log goes away. rowal5555 Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 UPDATE Went to play a video tonight and no player (and I have quite a few) would play anything other than sound, so ended up doing a System Restore, LOL. I dunno!! The new NVidia drivers appeared to have installed OK, but....
