And it means that the drivers aren't installed, or are corrupt. Reinstall the drivers for your sound card. If you've just reinstalled Windows clean, a common cause of this is not installing the chipset drivers for the motherboard. These are on a separate CD. Unfortunately, without any information as to the system itself or what happened, it's difficult to offer more. HTH -pk

Guest Brian A. Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Re: no sound from speakers with an error code You can install the audio drivers from either the provided CD or from files downloaded from the manufacturers support site. Check the PC manufacturers support site first for the appropriate drivers for your specific PC Make/Model. Download the latest updated drivers for you device, also download or print any Readme/Install file if it is available as a separate file, it may be included in the downloadable driver file instead of separately. Install the drivers per the manufacturers instructions. If you need any further assistance, please provide as much information as possible for your PC and Devices. If you would like to find the information in a simple manner, download and run: Everest Home Edition: (Last one offered free) http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads9.html http://basconotw.mvps.org/dwnlds.htm Create a new folder named Everest and extract the contents of the download to that folder. Open the folder and double-click everest.exe to run the application. -- Brian A.
