System restore with 2 users

After messing up mcAfee, I decided to do a system restore (Windows XP Home,

SP2). After that, my own account works fine, but the account of my wife is

totally messed up: starting up in XP mode in stead of 'Classic look', her

wallpaper is gone, outlook can't find the pst-file, IE is missing all

favorites, etc. When I look into the "Documents and Settings" folder via my

account, I see all necessary folders available for her account, but when I

look under her account, the hidden folders are not visible. I tried to make

the folders visible via the folder options, but it is not possible to show

these folders while the settings are not stored. Has anybody an idea how to

resolve this problem?

Have another look in "Documents and Settings". I suspect that

she now uses a different profile folder than she did before. When

you find the old profile, copy it over the new profile and make

sure to include subfolders and hidden files.

Hi,

It possible the user account is corrupt. I would suggest creating a new

account and move the data to the new account.
