Guest p3r3grine Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Anyone really familiar with this? Debating about deploying it at work so my employees can search a shared document directory. ISYS wants to charge me $4,200 for their product. It's better, but not $4K better. I am not rolling it out via AD. I only want to give it to a few select secretaries. Question: Is there an easier way to only choose DOCUMENTS for Indexing? I installed it on my PC and had to go through the entire list of files *spacebar, arrow, spacebar, arrow, spacebar, arrow*. All I want to index is /DOC/XLS/PDF/WPD/TXT (and the users email, but that part is simple). I do not want every achived PST, no MP3's or WMA's or files that don't even make sense to most folks. Gotta' be a better way? Anyone? (Why is there no DOCUMENTS ONLY button, MS? ;) )
Guest p3r3grine Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 RE: Windows Desktop Search Found the administrative guide. You can use GP to PREVENT certain file types from being scanned but you can't specify what the clients index. *sigh....
