Guest slygagnon247@gmail.com Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hi, I have two vb applications that uses the old DDE technology on Windows Server 2000. I must promote to Windows Server 2003. I have the same configurations that the WS2000 (Network DDE services etc.) I have this error when the applications try to connect (by DDE technology): Run-time Error '282': No foreign application responded to a DDE initiate I try to start three services (Network DDE, Network DDE DSDM and ClipBook). I try to stop services and set Startup type to Manual. I try change the link topic properties (corresponding with this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/203980/en-us ) I have always the error message. Does DDE protocol is supported with W2K3 ? I know that this technology is bad, very bad, but I have no choice to keep this technology. Do you have a solution ? Thanks Sly

The KB you gave and your error match. Looks like you have to update this application to works on Windows 2003. -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com <slygagnon247@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1187805762.866776.20390@r23g2000prd.googlegroups.com... > Hi, > > I have two vb applications that uses the old DDE technology on > Windows > Server 2000.
