Goku Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I think it is a plug-in issue for certain. Lets try this again. Please download Adobe Flash Player from here. Install the plug-in. Make sure all current browser Windows are closed. Restart the browsers and test the sites. Do they work or not? -- Goku Quote
DSTM Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Have done as requested and this pain still persists. These links cannot be viewed by IE or Opera. FireFox no problem.IE blank Opera unreadable rubbish. If possible would like to fix this problem, rather than having to switch Browsers, when these Flash links appear. Adobe Flash ActiveX up to date, and Adobe plugin installed again. All the plugins for Opera are installed. Any help further would be appreciated. http://boortz.com/mp3/archive/countdown.swf http://users.skynet.be/bk258512/idiot_test.swf Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
DSTM Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Downloaded and installed Avant Browser, just now and the links work perfect as with FireFox.Does that give any clues? Guys. Would reinstalling IE7 and Opera, enter the equation? Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Goku Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I think, you can try a browser re-install. I tested the links myself in Internet Explorer and they work fine. However, I doubt re-installing the browser will help much. Anyways, try it and see if that resolves the problem or not. Good Luck. :) -- Goku Quote
DSTM Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 I installed an earlier version of OPERA and no different.I installed OPERA 9.51 and the only difference is When I hit the link the first time,it's still chinese,However if I hit REFRESH it works fine. Opera is set to accept cookies.Any clues? Thanks. Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.

Guest Wolfeymole Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Dougie I know your lass swears by IE but why do you insist on keeping Opera when all works perfectly well in Firefox? Quote

Seth Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Reset IE7 and see what happens. Open IE and: 1.Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.2.On the Advanced tab, click Reset.3.In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset. 4.When Internet Explorer 7 finishes restoring the default settings, click Close, and then click OK two times. 5.Close Internet Explorer 7. The changes take effect the next time that you open Internet Explorer 7. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. DSTM Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 Looking at Doug's computer now and things are really weird. If we middle click a link to open in a new tab, everything works fine. Left clicking brings up the code until the page is refreshed. We have uninstalled and reinstalled flash 9.0.124.0, and reset IE as suggested. It seems to be that left clicking is doing something unusual, LOL. Everything works normally on my PC so it is something on this computer that is different. rowal5555(Rob) Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
maynardvdm Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Ok. Please specify which browser you did what with. It is getting confusing for me ;) So you want to fix Internet Explorer and Opera, correct? And FireFox, everything is working properly, yes? What is your version of Java? If you have HijackThis do the following: (If you dont have dont worry about this) Create an uninstall list: Launch Hijackthis Click the Open the Misc Tools section button Click the Open Uninstall Manager button. Click the Save list button. Include this log in your next post Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
