centurion5 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Past few months I have been replying to 2 MSN group sites message/posts by Outlook Express, which have been automaticaly redirected/sent by Outlook Express through my hotmail account without any problem.:) Now it starts to redirect, and then for some unknown reason I now get a notice/window that access is denied. Saying invalid login also it shows my email address and I assume my password. The error is 0x800CCC32. I retype my address and p/w, and try again...the error comes back again...I have gone through the forgot p/w routine and have changed it...but this error window returns yet again with the same error No..0x800CCC32  I have not changed anything that may have caused this Quote
RandyL Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Hi centurion; If I understand right you're using Outlook Express to send and receive mail from your hotmail account. Hotmail free has quit allowing the use of Outlook Express years ago. They did allow some of the older accounts to keep using it but did say that eventually they would not even allow those. I used it with OE up until 18 months ago when I switched to Vista which does not support OE. I doubt that my Hotmail would still work with OE anymore though. Lately they have been cutting off access to even the old accounts. If this is the case I fear your number has come up. Quote We are all members helping other members. centurion5 Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Outlook Express not directing message via hotmail Hi RandyL, Thanks for your reply. I can give you the two MSN group sites if you'd wish to give it a go !!!! As.......... I really am confused now....My army pal has, and still replies and recieves emails to these MSN group sites (ex army MSN group sites). I would assume his messages are redirected in the same way, as he also has a hotmail account. He has only been online for about 8 weeks, and runs Vista. When one ckicks onto either 'Reply to sender' or 'Reply to the MSN group' The OE window opens up automatically. His latest message post to that site was at 9.00 pm this evening. So I am utterly confused. Quote
RandyL Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Your friend may be using hotmail but he's using the web based mail. Vista does not support Outlook Express. Vista uses Windows Mail as an email client. And hotmail flat out will not work with Windows Mail. As I've said centurion I believe hotmail has discontinued support for your account to be used with the email client Outlook Express. You can still logon to your hotmail account on the web to send and recieve mail. This is the case with every user not just you. Quote We are all members helping other members. Goku Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Hello and Welcome to FPCH Centurion. :) Sorry to jump in but have you tried the instructions provided in the following Knowledge Base article. You cannot connect to your MSN account in Outlook 2003 If not, then please try so and see if it helps or not. Good Luck. -- Goku Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Also have you checked the firewall rules as they may also be blocking it - its a definate firewall issue either at your end or at hotmails - I use Office 2007 on Vista and can still access my hotmail. RandyL Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Slow down guys. centurion has Outlook Express not Outlook which is part of Office. Reread my posts. Free Hotmail support for Outlook Express has been discontinued. You can no longer use Outlook Express with the Free Hotmail. Very old accounts were grandfathered but even those are now being discontinued. The hotmail accounts can still be used by accessing them on the web or Outlook but not Outlook Express.
