The real worry is that utensil you get in some fast food places. You know the one.

You are not quite sure whether it are supposed to be a spoon or a fork. If you happen to have one secure it carefully as they are a common target for burglars.

He does and he keeps it on a shelf between his collection of forks and his collection of spoons.

And for those of you who do not know of what we speak more the shame!

I read somewhere on the Net, that there's Crims now have the ability, to skim your Card details, simply by walking past you,in the street.

If's that's true, then we are in deep schite.

that's only with RFID I believe it is called, I'm sure those are the letters but I don't know which way round they go :P

but that is not used with creditcards or debit cards, it's the technology that is being developed to allow you to buy things with everyday objects like using your mobile phone to scan your way through a train ticket gate or top up your phone by swiping it over a machine etc.

RFID cards are more commonly used in Access control for buildings - they have a copper strip sandwiched between pieces of plastic and it sends out a constant signal that is recognised by your place of work and opens the doors - I should know as I work in that industry :D

They only broadcast a signal - you then need something that interprits it -

and they are VERY secure - so dont worry

Getting the info off the card is relatively easy - then using that information is not so easy.

Credit card and bank companies spend an absolute fortune on these cards mate and making then secure -

If you take for example Holographic designs like those on the Barclaycard - that is not technology that you can easily replicate -

I am a firm believer in the hole in the ground principal.:p

I don't have more on my Cards, than I have to, for normal transactions.

My new Visa Card has a RFID Patch in the centre of it.

I am not paranoid,just don't trust this technology,yet.

Too many holes. If they were so secure, people wouldn't be losing Millions,to these Scammers.Just my thoughts.:)

The people that lose money - normally do so through lack of understanding - I still know people now that order from internet sites that are NOT secure -

I am sure that some people do lose money - but thats why companies have protection in place - if you order online - use a credit card as you are protected if anything happens.

I know there are loopholes in all systems that people try and exploit - you trust a bank with your money and it is then their responsibilty to make sure your money is safe - anyone with a Barclaycard will have like a little calculator that you insert your card into when purchasing online - it gives you a kind of reference number that the company then know is secure :)

There are always gaps in technology that people will try and capitalise on.

we see them everyday from Malware, to car tax disk fraud.

The Barclay card technology is not here,in OZ, or being talked about being implemented,so until this happens, one has to be careful,at all times.

I flatly will not have any financial details, on my PC. I send money, by other means readily available.I can have any amount of money, say to England, ready for the person to collect, in 1 hr,so why risk my Credit details, on the net.:)
