Guest gmiga76 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Hi There, I have migrated to win2003R2 a file server where Mydocuments are hosted. I would like to put back in place quotas. This should be an easy task with FSRM and templates systems.... . Here is my issue: \\share\user1 \\share\user2 -I would like to estimate directory size of each users, I have users with 1Gb Quota and a few at 3Gb . Is Storage Report Managament is capable of list all directory in \\share\ and reports size ?. -I have to deal with 2 set of quotas (some users at 1Gb somes at 3Gb). My idea is to apply a quotas of 1Gb by default on all usersX and replace one by one with 3Gb template users needed to changed. What surprise me the most is difficulty I have to have an estimated directory size per users. I ll dig on DOS side ... . Guest johnboy007 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 RE: FSRM quotas Why not create a group in AD for each size and then add the members you require to a group. So everything is centrally located. "gmiga76" wrote: > > Hi There, > > I have migrated to win2003R2 a file server where Mydocuments are > hosted. Guest Marcel Heek Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Re: FSRM quotas Hi, I would use an auto assign folder quota (create an template) of 1 GB to the parentfolder of the Homefolders. Each existing or new created folder will be assigned this template. Use a tool like TreeSize to inventory the Homefolder sizes and assign another template to the HomeFolders that need more storage. They will be a seperate quota enty instead of a child of the auto-assigned quota of the parent folder. regards, Marcel "gmiga76" <gmiga76.2vrhnc@DoNotSpam.com> wrote in message news:gmiga76.2vrhnc@DoNotSpam.com... > > Hi There, > > I have migrated to win2003R2 a file server where Mydocuments are > hosted. After a few weeks of admin with this template quotas in 2003 R2 I can same this system is nice if you do not have to much exceptions (VIP users , over quota allowed for specific reasons etc ... ). Thanks for your reply.
