Guest andre_rosenthal@hotmail.com Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Yall My DLT7000 is correctly installed and I see the free media allocated. Once I start ntbackup it asks me for preparing the media since it was used on a different computer. Once that is done, I try to use the tape but, alas, the backup tab only allows me to use file (grayed out). As a consequence I am left without the capabilities to do a backup. System is WS03SP2R2 and I was able to run a full backup a day ago. Anyone has a clue on how to re-enable the usage of tape on ntbackup? Cheerio

Is the new media in the free pool ? When i used to backup with ntbackup, i always first format the tape and put them manually in the free pool. -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com <andre_rosenthal@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:1187883305.597533.137600@i13g2000prf.googlegroups.com... > Yall > > My DLT7000 is correctly installed and I see the free media allocated. > Once I start ntbackup it asks me for preparing the media since it was > used on a different computer. > > Once that is done, I try to use the tape but, alas, the backup tab > only allows me to use file (grayed out). > > As a consequence I am left without the capabilities to do a backup. > System is WS03SP2R2 and I was able to run a full backup a day ago. > > Anyone has a clue on how to re-enable the usage of tape on ntbackup? > > Cheerio >
