I tried different codecs, Dell drivers, Windows Update, slowed down

and stopped hardware acceleration but no difference, scratchy audio. I

upgraded from WMP10 on a Dell OptiPlex GX270.

My other Dell (Dimension 8300) upgraded to WMP11 just fine....

Was anyone else stuck with scratchy audio but found a different

solution other than the ones commonly mentioned?

P.S. I'm using VideoLan and Media Player Classic until I fix WMP11, no

scratches!

Try using Quicktime to play .mp3 audio if you become desperate.

There was/is a problem with Dell hardware that

was fixed by a Dell driver upgrade.

Check Dell tech support - I don't remember the specifics.
