Guest PMilloy@gmail.com Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I tried different codecs, Dell drivers, Windows Update, slowed down and stopped hardware acceleration but no difference, scratchy audio. I upgraded from WMP10 on a Dell OptiPlex GX270. My other Dell (Dimension 8300) upgraded to WMP11 just fine.... Was anyone else stuck with scratchy audio but found a different solution other than the ones commonly mentioned? P.S. I'm using VideoLan and Media Player Classic until I fix WMP11, no scratches!

There was/is a problem with Dell hardware that was fixed by a Dell driver upgrade. Check Dell tech support - I don't remember the specifics. <PMilloy@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1187891262.808822.60730@l22g2000prc.googlegroups.com... > I tried different codecs, Dell drivers, Windows Update, slowed down > and stopped hardware acceleration but no difference, scratchy audio.
