Guest Pete, MCP Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I read the thread on this forum addressing this issue. It had no solutions. I have searched Technet and MS Knowledge Base and found nothing. I Googled the problem and found no more than what has been offered on this forum (i.e. nothing). Some users on our network (about 10) are experiencing this. They start the computer from power-off. Windows loads normally and the Windows Login screen is displayed. The User name and Password fields are unavailable (grayed out). Rebooting the computer will normally fix the problem. No other solutions as of yet. We are running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 installed. All updates and security patches have been applied on all machines. Running Symantec Antivirus. We are using Intel motherboards with Intel Pentium 4 and Duo Core processors installed. If there are any known solutions other than rebooting, please post them.
