Guest Steve Wade Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Is there a way to export a Windows Explorer View in csv format so that I can import it into excel. I have a very extensive set of folders that I need to analyze for archiving purposes so need the folder name, size and last modified dates.

Maybe use dir command? Open command prompt Change to the folder you want to list Type "dir > files.txt" Open files.txt in Notepad.exe, delete header and footer information, and all directory entries so it only shows files, save it. Open Excel, go to File --> Open, change Files of Type to Text Files Browse to the files.txt file and select Open Follow the onscreen instructions for fixed width data type, lines breaks, etc... Jon.
