Guest jude@womenshealthspecialists.org Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I have successfully set up new domain users and their computer on the domain. I have 6 users in ADUC, and have not added them as local users on the computer. I added one user, not as local user, but as domain user. I logged on as local machine administrator, and installed software. I copied the local machine administrator's account to the other domain user. When I logged on as the domain user, I did not have access to software and settings. When setting up several users on the local machine do you have to put them on as local users first? This means maybe 2 profiles per person and many profiles. I would love to have some advice!

Is your suggestion to create a base profice for the local users also known as mandatory profiles? Should I be doing this in a W2k3 environment? Thanks!

Won't I still have multiple profiles on one local machine? I am trying to avoid this because these users change frequently. Or if they are are under all users, will that not create mutiple user profiles on the local machine because they are point to the All Users profile? Thanks!
Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Re: New computer, several domain users, profile problems What i proprosed is to create a default profile with all the settings needed If your users move alot, you may use GPO to remove their local profile at logoff (they would have a roaming profile not to loose their settings) -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com <jude@womenshealthspecialists.org> wrote in message news:1188429568.406846.267780@e9g2000prf.googlegroups.com... > On Aug 24, 9:02 am, "Mathieu CHATEAU" <gollum...@free.fr> wrote: >> Hello, >> >> your explanation is a bit hard to understand for me.. >> Not added as local user on which computer ? the server i guess ? that's >> not >> needed> I copied the local machine administrator's account to the other >> domain >> > user >> >> How ? >> >> How to Create a Base Profile for All >> Usershttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/168475/en-us >> >> -- >> Cordialement, >> Mathieu CHATEAUhttp://lordoftheping.blogspot.com >> >> <j...@womenshealthspecialists.org> wrote in message >> >> news:1187907294.244559.81040@z24g2000prh.googlegroups.com... >> >> >> >> >I have successfully set up new domain users and their computer on the >> > domain.
