Guest Tom Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Hello My computer has just come back from the doctors with a new Hard Drive. As a result, the shop installed XP for me however it is registered to "owner". Can I change it so that it is registered to "my name here". This is also a newsance because the default username is "owner" -------- Cheers

There's probably no old data on the new drive, so this is straightforward, with no real migration. You can then delete the Owner account, if you wish, once your account is functional. If you do need to migrate data, this may help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 As to changing the "registered to" name, this may help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310441 HTH -pk > > > -------- > > Cheers
