Thanks for you reply.

Yes the rest of the test is ok. My main DC is ok too.

Re: dcdiag error

Hello JFB,

On the second DC try changing the primary/preferred DNS to the first installed

DC and set the secondary DNS to itself. Seems you have areplication problem

because the DNS points only to itself.

Here some infos about DNS configuration if you have more then one DNS server:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825036

Re: dcdiag error

Hello JFB,

Why should it crash if you change the ip address configuration? Or do you

mean what happens for the clients? The only thing you have to check/change

is that the clients DNS configuration also points to the second DC and that

the second DC is also Global Catalog server.

Best regards

Re: dcdiag error

Hello JFB,

Open Active directory site and services, go to Sites, default first site

name, servers, choose the server, right click NTDS settings, open properties

and checkmark Global catalog (check event viewer after it, in Directory service

you must find event id 1110 and 1119)

Best regards

Thank you Weber,

I got that cover... so if the first DC stop working, the second DC will take

Hello JFB,

It will answer user logon requests. But if the first is broken and never

comes back, maybe from a backup then you have to move the 5FSMO roles to the
