Guest Dave Candi Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 My screen freezes on a regular basis? The mouse pointer freezes and i have to cold boot the machine and run chkdsk in recovery console? I've partitioned my pc so have to do this /r on multiple drives. This is becoming a hassle. Chkdsk finds errors and fixes them and the pc is fine for a short while after until the problem reoccurs? Can I copy recvoery console onto the hard drive? I know theres a way of doing this but can't remember exaclty how? Will this speed up the use of recovery console? Will i be prompted for recovery console at boot up? Any help most welcome

It becomes a selectable option during startup (i.e., a boot menu appears). Read the included help (Start -> Help and Support) to see how to install it. Having to repeatedly run "chkdsk /r" to recover bad blocks means you had better start doing backups and looking at buying a replacement hard drive.
