How to get Doom 2 , dos version 1994 , to run in win xp-pro?

Ive a working install of the original dos version of Doom 2 , it

running under win xp-pro , but its suffering from what I think is

called 'video lock' Ie when there is action on the screen the game

judders and so dose the sound

The game played fine upto win me , im not sure of the memory

allocations etc , trying to run it under win-me compatabilty mode

makes no differance , still judders

can it be done ?

Been ages since I played that. If I wanted to install it on my box, I'd use

an OpenGL port of the game. Search google for DoomGL or "OpenGL Doom".

Other than that, you could try DosBox but I haven't tried it personally:

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net
