error message 'd:\ log file error'

i get such an error after booting and when the desktop is visible. the 'd:\

log file error' is shown when i plug one of my other HDDs in to my pc.

HDD can be formatted but when it is fixed to the pc it belongs to and when i

try to set up XP, some installation files do not get copied and a string of

errors pop up.

how to solve it? is there a software to repair the corrupt log file of the

disk?

thanks

guy
