Guest Kerem Gümrükcü Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Hi, i am new to Windows 2008 worked with all previous Versions and i like the fact of installing Windows as a "Consoled" Windows like *nix Systems. But i did a full GUI installation to find out what the (new) OS can do for me. Now i want to know if there is a option/way to start the OS only with Core-Services, or whatever you call it. I mean is there a way to start the Server in Console Mode? By the Way, the 2008 Server is a big hit! Thanks in advance,... Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Re: Start Windows 2008 Server EE with Server Core,... Hello, the "Core" version is a graphical one, but a light edition. Roles can't be done on this edition. But yes, it's a graphical logon as the normal one. It's just you don't explorer & co, just a cmd. The light is not so much on the memory used (good enough anyway), but on the hard drive used. It's also prevent "click and play" administrator from playing around ;) -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com "Kerem Gümrükcü" <kareem114@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:%23BG%232K05HHA.3940@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Hi, > > i am new to Windows 2008 worked with all previous Versions > and i like the fact of installing Windows as a "Consoled" Windows > like *nix Systems.
