Guest Pied. Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I got two XP Home ED. operating systems when I start up my computer, but I only want one. I like to use my wireless keyboard, but because the first XP Home Ed. doesn't start up I would rather take it off considerig I want to aviod future problems & the burden of moving the arrow key down to the 2nd XP Home Ed. option; when I do this I need to use my other key board (not wirelesss)just to move the arrow key down instead of just allowing it to start up on its own. I am physically challenged & it is easier for me to use my wireless keyboard. I want to do this now before I upload other sofware, files, & before I personlize so I do not have to do it all over again (time consuming). -- Ralph D.
Guest P. Di Stolfo Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Re: I got two XP Home Ed. operating systems, but I only want one? Hello, click Start -> Run -> boot.ini -> Enter . Then delete the entry you don't need. Hope this helps. Greetings, P. That's because it isn't boot.ini. Start>Run>msconfig [enter] Look on the boot.ini *tab*. There is a button to click that will check invalid operating system entries. Guest P. Di Stolfo Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Re: I got two XP Home Ed. operating systems, but I only want one? Hello, I'm sorry, it's a typing error. Please follow Malke's solution. For the other way, it would have been Start -> Run -> C:\boot.ini -> Enter. Sorry again. Greetings, P. It's always best to use a ps/2 keyboard, not a wireless one. -- http://www.bootdisk.com/
