Guest johan Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Hi All I am preparing to deploy SP2 to several hundred servers. The majority of which are SP1. In the read me doc it says: "If you are installing SP2 on a computer running SP1, to ensure that certain applications and components (such as Windows .NET Framework 2.0) function properly, install SP2 by using Microsoft Update" Using the Microsoft Update site would not be practical or do they mean use something like WSUS. Unfortunately that is not practical as we don't use WSUS, as we are using Altiris to deploy patches to servers. Does anyone see it being a problem using the WindowsServer2003-KB914961-SP2-x86-ENU.exe to upgrade servers to SP2?
Guest Anthony Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Re: Windows 2003 SP2 Deployment Question I am sure they mean WSUS. I don't think they mean for the running of SP2 itself. That will be the same however it runs. I guess they mean that if you use WSUS you will be sure to have all the other patches including .net. Your Altiris Patch Solution should be doing something similar to WSUS anyway, Anthony, http://www.airdesk.co.uk "johan" <johan@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A90E8CB6-BC62-46E0-9932-BEB5D7AF2BD9@microsoft.com... > Hi All > > I am preparing to deploy SP2 to several hundred servers.
