Guest Jack Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Hello, My icon of drive c has mysteriously gone, leaving an "ordinary" program icon in the window explorer. I tried Powertoy, but still no use. Is this a virus or things like that? Thanks Jack
Guest Ramesh, MS-MVP Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Re: Drive C icon's gone Click Start, and then click Control Panel Double-click Folder Options On the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders Click OK. Open My Computer, right-click the drive-letter, and choose explore Locate the file named Autorun.inf (in the drive's root directory) Delete the file Autorun.inf if found Logoff and login back to your user account. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Jack" <jl@knight.com> wrote in message news:eu0$onI6HHA.4880@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl...
