Harry I cannot urge strongly enough to use something other than Norton for backups - use Acronis - even if you get the Norton backup onto disks chances are that you will not be able to load them back again -

the online one is slightly more reliable but as for CD/DVD Norton is not up to the job.

my norton backup wont allow me to back up either via cd or on line storage, any help please.

Please provide more information on the issue.

What Operating System and Service Pack are you running?

What error message do you get?

What is the exact name and version of Norton Backup?

Did it ever work properly?

Did it come with the PC or did you buy Norton Backup?

There must either be a problem with the image that Norton has taken - or the DVD drive itself - I would suspect the first, try and re run the ghost and see if it then accepts the disks.

Is this the first backup that you have done with Norton?
