Windows 11 High Definition Audio doesn't recognize headset, and Realtek drivers mic input too low

I have an Acer Nitro 5 gamer laptop (AN515-53 model), just reset the computer and clean reinstalled Windows 11. I can use either the Realtek drivers or the generic Windows High Definition Audio. I have tried several versions of Realtek and still have the following problem.- With the Realtek drivers, the PC detects a device connected to the jack and asks if it's a headphone, headset etc. But the mic input is extremely low, no matter what mic I am using (either the headset or the built in mic).
