We installed the August Windows updates on our workstations on Thursday evening, 8/10. On the following Monday morning 6 of our users reported getting numerous "dllhost.exe - System Error: The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application." popups that continued to repeat at various times. Event viewer showed that the errors (Application Popup EventID 26 in System events) had begun at differing times over the weekend while the computers were not in use. We updated firmware and drivers and installed application updates as necessary. That seemed to resolve the problem f
