Why does a Microsoft Safety Scan, in progress, show “65 infected files” and “no viruses were detected” when the scan is completed. Yet a re-scan yield

Help me understand the results. I was using Microsoft Safety Scan 1.395.1065.0 to scan my computer and over 2 million files were scanned. Periodically I check the progress of the scan and noted that 65 files were infected. When the scan was complete a message appeared noting that “The scan completed successfully and no virus, spyware, and potentially unwanted software were detected”. I ran the scan a second time got the same results - 65 infected files. So why did the scan results note that no virus, spyware, and potentially unwanted software were detected but during the re-scanning process t
