Guest b11_ Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 The other day, I tryed to restore a backup registry but, according to Scanreg, all 5 backups were bad. Why would all 5 registry backups be bad?
Guest Jeff Richards Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Re: bad backups Why do you need to restore the registry? If you are receiving messages that the registry is corrupted, then it is possible that you have bad RAM. In that case, every copy of the registry you restore will appear to be bad when it is loaded into the bad RAM. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "b11_" <b11@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B70583CE-00F0-453D-9487-FF5BD93EA674@microsoft.com... > The other day, I tryed to restore a backup registry but, according to > Scanreg, all 5 backups were bad. Why would all 5 registry backups be bad? You corrupted the Registry first.
Guest glee Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Re: bad backups In what way did scanreg say they were bad? Exactly what message did you receive? -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "b11_" <b11@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B70583CE-00F0-453D-9487-FF5BD93EA674@microsoft.com... > The other day, I tryed to restore a backup registry but, according to > Scanreg, all 5 backups were bad.
