Why won't my bitlocker recovery key work to let me access my laptop?

I have been entering the bitlocker recovery key for days now. I have tried resetting the computer but it keeps saying there was a problem resetting my PC. I've done everything from resetting to start up repair to startup settings to uninstalling my updates and doing a system restore but nothing seems to working. So I've been locked out of my computer for 2 days. Somebody please help me
