favorites item in windows explorer menu how to control with GPO?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a windows 2003 environment with an active Group Policy. I changed a

few items but when a user starts the windows explorer, the favorites menu

item (between view and tools) is missing. As far as I know I did not set this

feature in the Group Policy so it has to be controlled by another setting in

the GPO, but which one?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

They were there before you made changes and now they are not? Well I

would start out by looking at the settings that were changed. Reverese

them one by one and see which one makes it work again.

Well I know that this is my problem, but it is a setting in the Group Policy,

but which one, there is no GPO option that says, do not display the favorites

setting in Windows Explorer.

RE: favorites item in windows explorer menu how to control with GPO?

I took a while, but I found out that de the group policy setting "turn on

classic shell" in explorer settings (User Configuration - Administrative

templates - Windows Explorer) made the favorites menu item disappear.
