Before doing anything first check the power management option on your NIC

Select the NIC you are using to connect and click Properties.

On the NIC properties click on Power Settings or Management and make sure

this check box not checked:

[ ] Allow the computer to turn OFF this device to save power.

Click [OK] and you done, does it hold the connection?.

go through these cleaning steps to see or get a clear opinion on how

clean your machine is:

= Click Start >> Control Panel>>Network and Internet Connections >> Double

click Internet Options.

On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:

Advanced.

Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.

Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:

[&] Browsing

Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non

Open Device Manager, open the properties on your ethernet card, click

the Power tab, and deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device

to save power". If you use a USB device, do the same thing with the

Power tab on the USB root hubs.
