It is not a folder. You ought not to see this thing in your desktop all by itself. Jim

Guest John John Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Re: %SystemDrive% folder This is most likely a bogus folder or at least a folder with a bogus name. What are the files and folders in this folder? %SystemDrive% is a variable that refers to the "Drive" where Windows is installed, it usually refers to the C:\ drive. The C:\ drive (or any other drive) *cannot* be on the desktop, that is just plainly impossible. Possibly what you have on the desktop is a shortcut? Guest Miguel Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Re: %SystemDrive% folder It does not show that is a shortcut, if I enter to the folders inside the file this is the address that I get: C:\Documents and Settings\M4C\Escritorio\%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\M4C\Datos de programa\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache Read "escritorio" as desktop and "datos de programa" as program data (this is a spanish OS) I also do not see this folder in the C drive.. What should I do? should I cut and place on C:\ ? Need to comment my PC is running unusually slow. .. Thanks for your help! Guest John John Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Re: %SystemDrive% folder Hmmm. That would not usually be on the desktop it should be at: C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache As mentioned earlier %systemroot% is a system variable, it's the same thing as C:\. I think that maybe (or probably) you copied or dragged the folder to your desktop by error. Check to see if the folder actually exists in its expected location, it should be located at: C:\Documents and Settings\M4C\Datos de programa\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache If it isn't there copy it from the Desktop to the default location and then move the one on the desktop to a temporary location. If after a week or so you experience no problems you should be able to delete the temporary copy of the folder.
