Emails will not write to Thunderbird app after Windows 10 reset

I followed the procedure to reset Windows 10 on my HP Pavilion-g Laptop. It was successful and the updates installed, but now I cannot download email to my Thunderbird app and get the message:"Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."With 152 GB left on a 400 GB drive, I have plenty of disc space. I'm not tech savvy and instructions I read from various searches on "write privileges" were intimidating. What should I do?
