good day

 

i am a novice with pcs and i find myself in with a problem, my newest pc has died on me, it has xp on it and has a pentium 3 in it, i also have an old tiny pc with windows 98 second edition on it with a pentium 1 in it, can i swap them over, also whilst on about swapping bits can i switch hard drives and also the memory, forgive me if this sounds stupid but as i say i am a novice when it comes to pcs, regards

In a word, NO

 

On the memory that old machine might be running edoram or very early sdram so that would probably be out of the window too.

 

I don't see the hard drive being an issue though.

welcome to FPCH - as Wolfey has said you cannot swap the processors as they are different sockets and size.

Pentium 4 CPU's are extremely cheap, so it would be much easier to just replace the P4
