Dalo Harkin Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Google has just announced it is set to release a new web browser tomorrow built from the ground up and based on WebKit, the same rendering engine that Safari uses. The browser, dubbed Chrome, is open-source software built with security, compatibility and speed in mind – and of course it’ll integrate various Google services in it. Google chose a rather interesting way to announce their open source web browser project. In a 38 page comic book the company explains some of the browser’s features, such as the fact that it will include a new JavaScript virtual machine and the Google Gears add-on by default. Chrome is said to be a better solution for complex and rich Web applications, delivering better performance as well as “smoother drag and drops” in interactive applications. http://www.techspot.com/fileshost/newspics2/2008/google-chrome.jpg Sourced from Google to launch Chrome web browser tomorrow - TechSpot News Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.

help4me Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 The one draw back of chrome though, is that it use twice as much memory... as say IE. For people like me who have well outdated pc's.... that's not good. I'll stick with Opera for now ;) Quote Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.6 GHz6GB RAM500 GB HDDIntel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with 128MB dedicated memory Computer acting up?
