Cut and paste stopped half way through

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My friend wanted to move a folder from her desktop onto a network mapped

drive. She right clicked on the folder on her desktop and clicked Cut, then

went to the location on the network drive and right clicked and clicked paste

- it went about half way through and then a message popped up saying there is

not enough disk space available - she then clicked OK to this message and was

left with half the contents of the folder on her desktop and it deleted the

other half that had been copied on the shared network drive. She tried

straight after to right click and select PASTE to a different location but

the PASTE option was greyed out? Is there any way to get this information back

Regards

This operation will only work with COPY and paste. Did she look for the

data on the network drive?

Yeah she looked for the data but nothing there. After she pressed OK to the

message about there wasnt enough space it started deleting what it had

started pasting on the network drive

Re: Cut and paste stopped half way through

When the paste part of the operation doesn't happen, the original cut goes

back to normal. Meaning to say, the folder should still be there - where it

was before the cut. I have seen this done for years.
