Curious as to what all the folders are in System Volume Information - ie

RP200?

Are these actual individual restore points and if so why don't they display

in the Restore Calendar?

thanks

Re: System Restore

Hi JT,

RP200 is a restore point folder.

What is the exact problem you are having with System Restore?

Re: System Restore

Many times when I have tried system restore it comes back with unable to

restore, blah, blah ......

So when I see these files I wondered if they were the restore points and why

they wouldn't be listed on the restore calendar and why, when they are

listed, we only get 4 days of restore points.

JT, I'm sorry for invading your post, but I really don't know what else to

do. I am only able to reply to posts. For some reason I am not able to start

a "New Thread" ("Question"). All I get is a file icon with a red circle with

a slash through it. Can someone please help? Once again, I am really sorry JT.

Hold CTRL key when you click, sounds like you blocked the pop-up window.

The reason you're having such problems is that you are using the awful web

interface to read this newsgroup--it's the slowest, clunkiest, most

error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a newsreader,

such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows.

You're welcome, if you frequent these groups much, you may want to use a

newsreader instead. (Outlook Express or another)

Re: System Restore

Thanks for getting back on topic.

I'm not trying to do a restore, just wondered about all the folders in the

Volume Information - were they actually restore points and possibly why they

don't display in the calendar?

Re: System Restore

Hi JT,

Boot into Safe Mode and check to see if the calendar is populated with

restore points. This will rule out the possibility of other applications

interfering with System Restore.

Folders starting with "RP" are restore points.

Other than the System Restore calendar problem, is the system running normally?

If so, the next step would be to reinstall System Restore.

How to reinstall System Restore in Windows XP:
