Helo,

 

I recieve the same error on Windows Vista Home Premium when trying to

install iTunes, adobe Acrobat reader, Microsoft Works and Vista codec pack.

Sometimes I get the error: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path

or file..." or "Cannot open file for writing!"

This error occured after a month using my new Dell Dimension PC. I formatted

my HD and reinstalled Vista that I got from dell. The error still occours.

Then I thought XP would work better but after installing it the same errors

occoured. I thought it might be a hard drive failure but the diagnostics I

have run don not show any problems. If this problem is familiar to you and

you have dealt with it previously please help.
