Guest PeteL Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 When using W2003 NTBackup is there a way of specifying where the log file will be created? I understand the '/L:{f | s | n}' part to create the file, but I can't find a way of specifying where it will be created. TIA. Pete.
Guest glenn Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Re: NTBackup specify logfile location I don't know if you can. The log is usually kept here "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data\*.LOG" What I have done is to create a batch file to rename it and move it to the location I want Glenn "PeteL" <PeteL@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:90144049-F181-4B3C-A799-6F91559CFC53@microsoft.com... > When using W2003 NTBackup is there a way of specifying where the log file > will be created? > > I understand the '/L:{f | s | n}' part to create the file, but I can't > find > a way of specifying where it will be created. > > TIA. > > Pete. >

Guest PeteL Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 RE: NTBackup specify logfile location - Thanks RE: NTBackup specify logfile location - Thanks Thanks Glenn and Mathieu for your responses, I've used robocopy to copy just the recent log to an alternative location, so I'll carry on with that. It would be nice if Microsoft would add the capability!
