Guest Ron Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I have a user with XP Pro that is having trouble with a particular network application. This application is loaded on her desktop and connects to it's server to store and retrieve documents that are scanned into it's database. It was working fine until two days and she claims nothing was added or changed on her PC. What happens is that when you click on the icon to open the application the normal splash screen pops up, disappears but the actual application doesn't open afterwards. When I look into task manager it says the application and it's process are both running. I've tried re-installing the application client twice but that didn't work. I switched out PC's and that didn't work. I recreated her roaming profile which seemed to have fixed it yesterday but today she is having the same issue. No one else is reporting the problem. What else or where else can I look to find the solution? No clue is given in the event logs - they indicate everything is running fine.

I switched out PC's and that didn't work. If you have recreated the same problem with another PC, then logic suggests that the problem may be with the "server" end of the network. Are you sure you have a good connection between the two? > I recreated her roaming > profile which seemed to have fixed it yesterday but today she is having > the > same issue. Check the server log files (if you can) an see if there are any errors associated with her user profile. "If you smell something and the right foot is clean, check the other foot!" Mark
