Guest MG Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 lI am running DHCP on a Win2K Adv Server w/ SP4. I have one scope defined and when I right click to display statistics, I see 104 total addresses, x number of addresses available (x is usually less than 20 every day). When I go over to the option to check which machines currently have address leases - I count only around 44. What tools can I use to try to isolate what additional hardward could be using the extra addresses? Is there someplace else I can look to see why all of my leased addresses get used up. I have reduced the lease duration time so it's not not a matter of a machine getting an address and not releasing it. Any suggestions woulod be appreciated. Thx.

Guest net_admin Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 RE: DHCP Statistics I'm not sure if reservations would count on that, but it's worth checking it. Also, make sure you are clicking over the scope, not the server because this second statement counts for all scopes. -- NetAdmin <São Paulo, BR> "Das ist nicht mein biere... arschloch."
Guest MG Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Re: DHCP Statistics No, don't know the MAC address. The machines showing up in the address lease section can be accounted for, it's the devices using a DHCP address that don't show up here that I'm trying to track down. Thx. Guest MG Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 RE: DHCP Statistics don't have any IP set aside in reservations, thought about that, had a couple at one time but not now. clicking over the scope gives the same statistics as the server. Guest MG Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 RE: DHCP Statistics Yes and I was able to reconcile DNS forward lookup with the machine's showing up in DHCP. There are none in one place and not the other. Thx for the suggestion.
