Server Application and Operating system Optimization

Hi

 

Could somebody point me to general performance optimization techniques

(whitepaper) for any Server Application as well for the Operating System

called "Windows Server 2003" . I.e. not a specific microsoft server app but

a general client-server app. In terms of how to optimize disk and memory

access. tuning parameters in Windows Server 2003.

 

If shutting down certain services helps and turn of anything that do not

help performance.

 

The harware requirement is given and cannot change: Dual cpu, with dual

cores, hyperthreaded with scsi disk , 2GB RAM.
