Why does Building 6 make everything disappear?

I previously asked why I was typing and got suggestions about what should come next. None of the solutions I was given turned this off. Redirecting going into detail as to why, I print out newspaper articles by copying and pasting the text in an email to myself. There were paragraphs, and some were very short.
