xp won't shut down

When I try to shut down, Windows will do a bit of thinking (after

checking the Task Manager, it stops about 20 processes) then stops.

It doesn't freeze, I don't get any error messages...I can keep on

working as if nothing happened - except it won't shut down. The only

way to turn it off is to press the power button.

Has anyone encountered this before - and more importantly - know how

to fix it?

Cheers

Re: xp won't shut down

Thanks for that Rey, but I've been through that and my problem isn't

covered there. Thanks anyway.
