Lost tscc.msc???

Somehow, the terminal server config snap-in, on my new-ish Windows

2003 terminal server, is gone.

How might I recover this file? And, how might I go about determining

if any other system files are gone?

I checked the installation disc, but no luck; there *was* a file named

TSCC.MS_, but renaming it didn't work. Maybe it was compressed.

I would prefer to not have to install this on a spare box (as I don't

have one), nor do I have the disk space for a VM. But I guess if push

came to shove, I could make it work, though it would certainly be a

pain. If only there were some magical resource that could make a snap-

in appear from thin air (a call to MS? fairy godmother? ;) ...

I have *no* idea how this happened. I do have several armchair

administrators in my company, with enough clout to actually have admin

rights (I know... but it's hard to argue with the guys who paid for

it), but deleting system files??? That takes effort.

Thanks!

Hello robert.waters,

With the expand command line tool you can "convert" the tscc.ms_ to the original

MS file from the disk. have a look here:

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/bootcons_expand.mspx?mfr=true

http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/library/ae0175c2-206f-4ef9-b1b5-34026a1bbee81033.mspx?mfr=true
