Blocking particular Microsoft domains prevents internet access

Through some trial and error, I have found that if a firewall rule is configured to block either or both of the following domains, it almost completely bricks my machine's ability to use the internet on Windows 11 22H2:c.bing.comedge.microsoft.comThis affects non-Microsoft apps such as Firefox, Discord, and Backblaze.Why??
