Guest Ian Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I have tried two MP3 players on my XP today and neither will work. The Ipod could not find any device drivers through I tunes and the Wharfedale replacement couldn't either using it's setup disc. The latter is supposed to appear in my computer as a removable drive which it doesn't. In device manager, the device has a question mark and when I try to install the driver manually using the disc, it still states it cannot find a driver for the specified device. The driver status says: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) I run 2.0 speed USBs which are very loaded it has to be said (everything needs a USB these days!) and I have tried various different USB ports to no avail. Can anyone assist me? regards Ian

Guest Ian Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Re: Unable to install devices neither of these options worked. Peter why would I want to update my windows2000 with the latest service pack when I have XP SP2 already installed? The hotfix that the document relates to is also for W2000 and the link simply takes you to the MS website. Can anyone else help? Guest Unknown Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Re: Unable to install devices Did you try installing the drivers first---then the hardware? Guest Ian Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Re: Unable to install devices I am intrigued as to why this question gets no answers when it is a common problem outlined on Google. ah well "Ian" <youainthavingit.co.uk> wrote in message news:uVMFxEV7HHA.5752@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > neither of these options worked.
